If there are two of you or if you have a volunteer, you can use two scanners or more at the same time attached to different laptops. I’ve used the computer on a cart, the dolphin, and now I’m using a regular wireless scanner. Textbooks and assets were about half a day each. I have used it when the internet is follet for offline circulation.
I love parts of it and hate parts of it. The inventory was updated in real-time with no additional transfer required.
Just attach the scanner to a laptop and go. There will be a few lines of numbers to put in front of the barcodes on the pages, but the Follett Destiny support documents will have those.

We normally have two circulation computers up and running, but during inventory time we just take the scanner off one, plug it into a laptop on a cart and scan everything. I have a separate scanner bluetooth wireless and I have scanned directly into Destiny before.
I buy an extra regular scanner with a USB port. I was able to do all of my library inventory in a little less than 2 school days. This does “real time” inventory and I don’t have to fool with uploading Dolphin requires uploading. Cracks eventually Wont fit in charger.
